Lions Bay is a small seaside village on the eastern shore of Howe Sound. The community's name comes from the twin peaks visible all over Metro Vancouver and towering over the village, the Lions or Ch'ich'iyuy Elxwikn, The Two Sisters, to the indigenous Coast Salish people. Originally a boat access summer camping destination for Vancouverites, Lions Bay began to be permanently settled in the 1960's.
Lions Bay is located between Vancouver to the south via the Sea-to-Sky Highway and Squamish and Whistler to the north.
